Bundaberg Bowl and Leisure

The Tourism Award winning Bundy Bowl & Leisure Centre is the largest indoor family leisure centre in regional Queensland. Open seven days and nights per week the fully air conditioned facility has over 3500 square meters of leisure activities on two floors. 16 lanes Tenpin Bowling, Zone 3 Lasertag, Dodgem cars, Indoor Jurassic Putt Dinosaur adventure, Indoor Slide & Playcentre, Video games arcade, Licensed Cafe and Upstairs function area. Open from 10am-9pm each day, but as it is also school holidays, you should book on 4152 4334 to avoid disappointment. They have a school holidays special of one game of tenpin and 2 Arcade tokens for $9 for students

Reading Cinemas

Reading Cinemas Bundaberg is a 4 screen cinema complex featuring wall to wall screens, Dolby Digital 3D projection, digital sound, stadium seating, luxury armchair comfort, first release movies in 2D and Dolby Digital 3D, value packed candy bar deals plus an arcade games room. Reading Cinemas Bundaberg offers discounted ticket prices for groups of 10 or more.

Stockland - Shopping Centre

Stockland Bundaberg offers many great retailers including Woolworths, BIG W, JB Hi Fi, Best&Less and 70 specialty shopping and dining options. The Centre offers a variety of food options, fashion and service facilities.

 

Hinkler Central - Shopping Centre

Hinkler Central is a single level fully enclosed centre anchored by Kmart, Woolworths and Coles and including 76 specialty stores.

Beaches

Bargara and surrounding coastal areas are far enough South that stingers are not present, but there is surf ( due to the proximity of Fraser Island, the surf is small and safe.) From time to time whales can be seen from the shores. Beaches include; Kelly’s Beach , Elliot Heads, Neilson Park Beach, Oak’s beach, Innes Park, Coral Cove, Moore Park Beach and Woodgate.

Shalom Markets 

The Shalom Markets are on every Sunday morning from 6am to 12pm. Why not visit the markets early and grab a delicious hot steak burger or sausage sandwich from the BBQ. Shop for all your fresh fruit and veg, visit the craft, jewellery and plant stalls just to mention a few. Barista made coffees are on offer from the Tuckshop along with other great food and beverage choices. Support the College and make a morning of it!

Hinkler Hall of Aviation

The Hinkler Hall of Aviation celebrates the pioneer solo aviator Bert Hinkler and the wonders of innovation, spirit and adventure. Step inside a soaring exhibition hall featuring interactive exhibits, flight simulator, the Globe Theatre and five full sized replica aircraft. Climb into the Avro Baby bi-plane replica and email a photo of yourself as a flying ace to your family and friends. Engage with the detailed and rich history of Bert Hinkler and see the world through his personal effects, and documents and letters of the time. 

Bundaberg Brewed Drinks – Bundaberg Barrel

Discover the secrets of Bundaberg Brewed Drinks with a variety of hands-on activities at the home of ginger beer. Take an amazing journey through the True Brew Experience Tour. Use the interactive touch screens to see what happens to the humble ginger root as it’s crushed, brewed and fermented to make the world’s finest ginger beer. You can also sit back and enjoy the unique 15 minute 3D hologram adventure, ‘Doug’s Promised Land’ in the theatre. The Sampling Bar offers free product tastings of the entire range of brewed drinks. At last count there were 14 delicious flavours to try, including the famous Bundaberg Ginger Beer.

Bundaberg Regional Art Galleries (BRAG & CHARTS)

Bundaberg Regional Galleries are two vibrant gallery spaces dedicated to providing premier arts and cultural experiences in the Bundaberg region. Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) and Childers Arts Space (CHARTS) are located in the hearts of Bundaberg and Childers respectively, with easy access for visitors. Both gallery spaces boast a year-round program of local, touring and national art exhibitions, visiting artists, workshops, artist talks, educational programs, kids activities, guided tours, gift shop facilities, public outreach programs and much more. 

Bundaberg Botanic Gardens

The Botanic Gardens sprawl over 27 hectares of land and feature a variety of 10,000 trees and shrubs. A magnificent lake, creating a habitat attracting up to 114 species of birds, is centrepiece of the Botanic Gardens, while a wedding chapel, shaded picnic areas, themed boardwalks, Japanese gardens and children’s playground enhance the appeal of one of Bundaberg’s favourite lifestyle precincts. '

Riverfeast comes alive every Friday night with an array of internationally inspired foods, craft beer and wine with a spectacular view of the Burnett River.

Hummock Lookout

Situated off the road to Bargara is the low-lying volcanic remnant known as "The Hummock" which, although only 96 metres above sea-level, offers visitors good views over the whole area. The ocean is visible to the east while, to the west, the sugar fields can be seen encircling the city with the smoke stacks of the Bundaberg Distillery and Mill on the horizon. Watch the moon rise over the ocean as the sun sets over the land.

Burnett River Cruise

A 2 ½ hour cruise on the beautiful Burnett River aboard the fully restored classic river ferry, the gorgeous Bundy Belle. On board you will be entertained with commentary on the rivers colourful history. See the famous industries that are part of Bundaberg’s culture, Bundy Rum Distillery, Bulk Sugar Terminal, Port of Bundaberg, The ocean going yachts moored at the Marina and trawlers unloading at seafood processing plants. Enjoy the tranquillity of the river’s lower reaches – sit back in the roomy cabin or upstairs on the deck with your complimentary tea or coffee.

Bundaberg Rum Distillery

Under the careful and crafty eyes of our Distillers, Blenders and Bondsmen, millions of litres of Bundaberg Rum are aged to perfection here at the Bundaberg Rum Distillery. After protecting and ageing their rums since the 70s, the grand old guardian of the distillery Bondstore #7, has been given new life by being transformed into an immersive Bundaberg Rum Museum. 

TASTE BUNDABERG FESTIVAL

Held over four tasty weekends (Including 5 July - 7 July), Taste Bundaberg Festival is an invitation to roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty, pile plates high and leave glasses empty. Come, take a seat at The Great Bundaberg Feast. 

Bundy Food Tours

Bundy Food Tours specialises in half day guided food and drinks tours to meet producers and taste their produce. The Taste of Bundaberg Experiences vary in in destinations, length and cost. They are on Wednesday afternoons, Thursday and Saturday mornings. Predominantly they visit farms in different areas around Bundaberg and add in other food related businesses such as coffee roasters, butchers, seafood markets, bakeries as well as distilleries & breweries. The Bundy Drinks Tour is on Saturday afternoons - visiting three local beverage producers from the iconic Bundaberg Rum to the new Bargara Brewing Company and Kalki Moon Distilling and Brewing Company.
